The Los Angeles Auto Show 2006 is now taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The event started on Jan. 6th and will run until Jan. 15th. I took the opportunity to drop on by the show Saturday afternoon before the Laker/Clipper game and snapped up some pics. I figured I'd share some pics here at MobileWhack.com. You can find additional information about the LA Auto Show here.

I'm going to focus on the new cars that I saw. The Auto Show featured every single car imagineable but the more interesting things were the concept cars, hybrids and ridiculously expensive cars.

Let's start things off with Nissan cars. We've got the Nissan 350 Z which just looks utterly sweet in the purple doesn't it?

Finally, Toyota had the new RAV4 SUV out too. I actually am finally liking the RAV4. When it first came out, I just couldn't stand the design.

Volkswagon had a couple of new cars - the VW Eos

and the funky crossover vehicle - the VW Gx3 which comes with a 125 hp engine and is priced under $17000.

The high end cars were found in a different section at the auto show. When I say high end.. I'm talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars upwards to millions.

Here's the new Eclipse '06 followed by the Eclipse Concept car:

Finally, Jeep came out with the new Hurricane. The Hurricane features dual V8 engines - one in the front and one in the rear. Another awesome feature is the ability for the car to do super tight 360 turns b/c all four wheels rotate.

Moving up the pay tree, you can get the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 for a cool 1.3 million dollars. What does that get you? A car that has 1001 hp and a top speed of 253mph.
