Kenwood HDV-770 Car Navigation SystemKenwood Japan has launched the new Kenwood HDV-770 hard-disk based car navigation system. The HDV-770 was had made its appearance in last year's Tokyo Motor Show.

The inclusion of a hard-disk has several advantages - one of them being quick retrieval of desired information. The HD-770 is a very responsive navigation system. Visibility has been improved noticeably. The display remains clearly visible even when viewed from wide angles or when direct sunlight falls on the screen. The HDV-770 can also take in a DVD/CD with relevant (and possibly newer) map information. It updates the information on the hard-disk with that from the DVD/CD while on the move. Audio quality is another plus of the HD-770. It features the Navi Emotional Sound technology from Kenwood, which minimises interference between the navigational and audio components. On top of all this, the HD-770 can also function as a digital music/video player because it integrates with the iPod.

The HDV-770 is expected to be launched in the middle of February 2006 and has a MSRP of 225,750 Yen (approximately US$230). Should be in the US very soon.
