JVC-Victor has announced the launch of the new JVC SP-A220 series of portable speakers. The SP-A220 comes in four main colors: Blue, Pink, Silver, and White. Further, each colored speaker in turn comes with four changeable body panels.

The JVC A220 is a compact stick-type unit (16.6cm length, 4.0cm diameter, 145 grams) and comes with a convenient carry pouch. It runs on 4 AAs-sized batteries which is sufficient for about 15 hours of playback. There's a built-in amplifier with a bus boost circuit.

The JVC SP-A220 goes on sale on the 1st of February, 2006. Pricing is yet to be announced. Production is slated to be 3000 units per month in the initial phase. A stand is thrown in as part of the package. www.jvc.com
