HP-S550

JVC has presented two new headphones models today, the HP-S550 and HP-S350 provide high quality sound and come in different colors, each one has a special feature like being able to fold or having a retractable cable system.

The HP-S550 is suppose to be used on the outdoor environment and that is why it has the automatic retractable cord feature that I previously mentioned, this system uses the “one-touch” technology (if that exists...) to pull back the cord into the small yo-yo-shaped box – see the picture below. The cord measures 1,2m and can be retracted while connected to the audio player device.

It also has diverse options on how to become smaller, the folding options vary with our intention as it can become thin, compact, or rotate the side of the earphone only. Both new versions (S550 and S530 are capable of this).

The maximum volume it can reproduce is around the 110dB mark, since the supposed usability is outdoors it has be light – 96 grams seems like a good number.

On the other side we have the HP-S350 that can be considered the little brother, the features are very similar without counting with the retractable cord system. It's a bit lighter – 89 grams – has normal cord measuring 80cm and an extension cord with a 70cm of length, the package comes with 2 extra accessories - 3.5 mm gold-plating stereo mini- jacks and mini-plugs.

Each model is available in 3 colors: siver, white & blue combo, and gun metallic. They will be in the market on the middle of October but there is no information about the price.
