gyhd250u_side_B.jpgJVC Professional Products Company has just launched the JVC GY-HD250U, a high definition camcorder which combines studio capabilities, 720/60p capture abilities and recording functions and promises high end performance and functionality. This piece of equipment is extremely affordable when compared to other similar products and has been designed for easy transition from SD to HD so that the customers don’t spend a bomb on accessories like cabling.

The JVC GY-HD250U as mentioned by us earlier is a studio-capable HD camera and is a part of the rising ProHD line by JVC. It’s a shoulder style camcorder which means that it can be carried anywhere and would be the perfect solution to record Electronic News Gathering (ENG), and cinematography applications. The camcorder is capable of recording true 1280 x 720 progressive at 60 frames per second because of new advance technologies and features built-in genlock capability, component and HD-SDI output with connectors located on the magnesium chassis.

The JVC GY-HD250U is capable of performing in practically all kinds of environments and the HDV recording system is capable of also recording high-definition video on inexpensive MiniDV cassettes. Users can opt for the additional DR-HD100U Direct-to-Editâ„¢ recorder which simultaneously achieves HD work flow while backing up the content. The camera is compatible with the industry standard 26-pin multicore cabling for power, genlock, R/B gain, black level and intercom. The included Anton-Bauer battery bracket is a very popular choice especially for ENG Equipment.

The JVC GY-HD250U includes a 16:9 LCD studio viewfinder and the 1/3-inch bayonet mount makes it compatible with third party lenses like Fujinon, Canon etc. The time code is recorded in native 24p mode and other features found on the camera include enhanced cinema gamma, external time code synchronization, BNC connectors, built-in mount for a 14.4V professional battery, and the patented focus assist feature.
