JVC GR-D370 MiniDV CamcorderMore camcorders from the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show. This time, it's JVC with its new JVC GR-D370 MiniDV Camcorder featuring better performance and handling over previous models. With a new 1/6" 680k-pixel CCD, you can go up to 32x optical zoom and 800x digital zoom.

The JVC GR-D370 also adds a 16:9 high-quality wide mode for shooting videos, apart from 520 lines of resolution with the Super High-Band Processor. The NightAlive night mode is provided for low-light shooting. Not just limited to video, you can also capture digital still images with this camcorder, and save images on a SD/MMC memory card, thanks to the compatible slots provided.

The on-screen menu features a total of seven languages which is helpful. The preview LCD seems to look pretty good, being a 2.5" display. If you have a IEEE 1394 port on your computer, you can also use the GR-D370 as a web camera. The camcorder also offers DV input and outputs.

The JVC DR-370 will put you back by $330, and will be available next month. For details, visit JVC.
