Johnson Electric unveiled NanoLens, a new motion technology for auto-focus in cellphone cameras, giving boost to the quality of images captured on the cellphone.

Cameraphones were all the rage in 2005, and the trend will definitely continue through 2006 and beyond, thanks to the convergence factor. Quick, when was the last time you took an image from your cellphone that was great in quality? NanoLens promises to increase speed, smoothness, accuracy and repeatability of image quality.

The folks at Johnson Electric also provide an application development toolkit for cellphone manufacturers, so that they can quickly integrate NanoLens technology into the cellphone. A prototype of the NanoLens can be seen at the 3G World Congress and Exhibition event at Hong Kong's Convention Centre, from 14-18 November 2005. (The product is expected to be released in early 2006).

More info about NanoLens is available from Johnson Electric's website.
