jbl-micro-radial.jpg Today JBL (Harman Kardon’s multimedia brand), announced two future projects to hit their portable desktop iPod speaker series. Welcome the newly evolved- JBL On Stage Micro and JBL Radial Micro. These high fidelity- high performance speakers deliver powerful clear sound and yet come compact enough to fit into the palm of your hand. Who said bigger is better? The portable speakers are basically smaller and lightweight versions of existing units. Both devices are equipped with remotes for iPod track selection, menu navigation, and volume control.

JBL’s On Stage Micro (mirroring JBL On Stage II) has two Odyssey transducers (lowest bass to the highest highs), an IR remote, and is powered by an AC adapter or four AAA batteries (which last for up to 24 hours of continuous play). JBL On Stage Micro will be available at major retailers starting in October with retail price of $99.95.

JBL’s Radial Micro weighs in at only one pound and dimensions measure at only 6 by 1.75 inches. This speaker features four Odyssey transducers that are positioned around an arc, bringing surround like quality sound. JBL Radial Micro will be sold in November with suggested price of $149.95.

Incorporating the Apple(R) iPod Universal Dock, both JBL On Stage Micro and JBL Radial Micro are compatible with all docking iPods. Both units connect with a USB 2.0 cable to synchronize and have last volume setting recall. With their additional built-in mini stereo jack, the speakers can be hooked up to other digital music player devices, CD players, gaming devices, laptops and desktop computers.

More compact and simpler priced than its predecessors, this is the perfect compliment for all the new recently released Apple toys..
