Isys i/O TPMC-8X WiFi Touchpanel
Creston unveiled the new TPMC-8X Isys i/O 8.4" WiFi Touchpanel, a compact Wi-Fi touchpanel running Windows XP Embedded OS that lets you freely roam around in your house or neighborhood. With support for streaming multimedia and Internet browsing capabilities, the touchpanel is equipped with a big 8.4" active-matrix screen offering SVGA resolution at 16-bit color.
At 0.92" (2.32 cm), the TPMC-8X is thin and lightweight, housed in a rugged magnesium alloy enclosure. It comes with a 5-way thumbpad as well as up/down arrow buttons for easy on-screen menu navigation. A stylus takes care of the input.
Built-in Bluetooth support lets you take advantage of a number of wireless devices including keyboard/mouse. The touchpanel also comes with one USB 2.0 port. Security is ensured by the biometric scanner. The TPMC-8X supports 802.11 a/b/g Wi-Fi technology with WEP encryption.
Integrated applications include Windows Media Player, Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Reader. A Li-ion battery powers the TPMC-8X. Pricing has not been made available yet. Check out the specs in the extended entry.
