Microsoft-iPod-Killer.jpgWe've heard this all before but really, are the guys over at Microsoft busy with their own version of the iPod music player?

Well Paul Thurrot of WinInfo in a recent post says he "can confirm reports that Microsoft has been building potential iPod comptitors in-house." Recently Microsoft via its partners such as Creative and Rio have produced Portable Windows Media devices but have fallen short...Microsoft has its work cut out for it.

With Apple gaining momentum because of what experts call the Halo Effect (iPod users switching to Mac), it should be a matter of time for the Redmond based company to take matters in its own hand. We just hope that they realize that the iPod's success isn't just the design and overly simplistic navigational system. It is also its integration with also popular iTunes Music Store.
