IDX A-E2H1 Endura for Canon XL-H1 CamcordersIDX System Technology announced a new bracket technology allowing owners of the Canon XL-H1 High-Definition Camcorder to use IDX's Endura Li-Ion battery systems. The A-E2H1 Endura adapter is designed to fit neatly in the battery adapter of both XL-H1 and XL-H2 camcorders.

With this in place, consumers can look forward to a longer battery life. The bracket ensures that Endura's battery voltage is converted from the standard 14.8V to the camera's required 7.2V, and they've also thrown in over-voltage protection. If you'd like the on-camera lighting systems to be powered up by Endura, this is also possible thanks to a D-Tap DC-out port on the adapter.

The A-E2H1 Endura adapter was unveiled at the National Association of Broadcasters 2006 conference at the Las Vegas Convention Center. For a demo, head to booth C4235. Access IDX for details.
