i-mate JAMin Cell Phone
One of the eagerly awaited phones of 2006, the i-mate JAMin, is now out! Powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system, the JAMin is a quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz world phone equipped with about 128MB of ROM and 64MB RAM, offering an SDIO card for exapanding on the memory front.
It's a stylus-only, so don't expect a QWERTY keyboard on this one. A 5-way navigation pad is available along with call answer/end buttons. The screen is a 2.8" 240x320 pixel (QVGA) resolution 64k transflective touch screen LCD (phew, now that seems amazing but it's not).
One of the USPs of the i-mate JAMin is the availability of Bluetoth and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) network capability. Of course, it's also compatible with GPRS/EDGE networks for high speed mobile access to the Internet which is great. All this is powered by a Texas Instruments OMAP 850 200MHz processor.
It's also your mobile media player, with support for MP3/WMA/AAC and a host of other audio formats. The included 2 megapixel camera is nice for better-looking photographs and, possibly, videos.
i-mate JAMin pricing and availability are not yet available, but they should be announced soon - we'll update you on that one. For now, head to i-mate's website for more details.
