photo_treo700w.gif Today Palm, Inc. announced its support for the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) a animal protection charity. Palm have donated Palm(R) Treo(TM) smart phones to augment workflow efficiency. The employees of HSUS will use the smart phones to collect information during field work and share it with press, customers and colleagues. Thus America’s biggest animal-protection organization will use Treo smart phones with Good Technology's solid wireless email software and will run on Cingular Wireless EDGE network.

HSUS gave this honor to Treo and Goodlink after going through a number of options. These two stood out according to HSUS because of easy use, flexibility and all-in-one form factor.Treo has already proven reliable and affordable during the Katrina disaster and this news by HSUS doesn’t surprise many. Field employees can contact all their colleagues and access email, contacts, instant messaging, tracking and phone for emergency management.

The Humane Society of the United States protects animals 24 hours a day, seven days a week around the globe," said Laura Folden, director of IT for HSUS. "Without our Treo smartphones, it would have been nearly impossible to keep up the pace over the last year, especially given the scope of our disaster-response efforts. Treo smartphones created a surge in our communications and productivity."
