HP To Incorporate BroadbandConnect In Their New Notebooks
The CTIA Wireless 2006 show is the perfect place for companies to demonstrate their cutting edge and innovative technologies. Some all see it the ideal platform to announce joint collaborative projects. Cingular Wireless and HP have just announced HP’s plans to incorporate Cingular's BroadbandConnect in their renowned notebooks. HP claims to be the first company to provide users global 3G capabilities with its range of broadband wireless notebooks which will feature Cingular’s UMTS/HSDPA-based technology.
This collaboration would entail users to access their emails, the internet etc both in the US and rest of the world with UMTS or GPRS/EDGE networks. Cingular Wireless was a pioneer of sorts when it came to providing HSDPA service to the general public and today they cover yup to 16 markets covering 52 cities. UMTS/HSDPA is a path breaking technology which is capable of providing download speeds between 400-700 kilobits per second (kbps), with bursts to more than one megabit per second. http://www.hp.com/
