HP Compaw nw8440 Mobile Workstation
Japanese HP Corp released another new workstation notebook, the HP Compaw nw8440 mobile workstation which boasts a 15.1 inch WSXGA+ TFT LCD with maximum resolutions up to 1680 x 1050 and 256MB ATI MOBILITYTM FireGL V5200 graphic card. It is powered by Intel Core Duo processor T2300E (1.66GHz), Intel 945Pm Express chipset, 1GB of PC-5300 DDR2-SDRAM and 80GB SATA HDD with 7200RPM and SMART capabilities. It also features a super multiple DVD drive, integrated Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express Controller and IEEE802.11b/g WiFi connectivity with wireless LAN security (64/128bit WEP, WPA, WPA2 and hardware-accelerated AES, 802.1x authentication types EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS and PEAP-GTC, PEAP-MSCHAPv2, LEAP, EAP-FAST and EAP-SIM).
To make it more user friendly, HP adds one-touch button for presentation mode, info center, radio button and volume control. On the surface, it has a built-in PC card slot, serial port, external display port, S-Video, USB2.0, IEEE1394 port, RJ45, RJ11 and also 7-in-1 media with smart card slots. The 8 cell Lithium ion battery could stand up to 4.25 hours of operation. It weight 2.7kg with the size of 358 × 259 × 28~41mm. HP Compaq nw8440 mobile workstation will be available in July with the price of 249,900Yen for T2300E/1GB RAM and 417,900Yen for T2600/2GB RAM.
