"This launch opens a new category for HD Radio products and will greatly increase the number of consumers who can enjoy HD Radio broadcasting next year."
HD Radio is a new technology that enables AM and FM radio stations to broadcast their programs digitally, a tremendous technological leap from today's familiar analog broadcasts. These digital broadcasts provide listeners with radically improved audio quality, more radio channels through multicasting, and new data services. Over 2,800 radio stations in the U.S. are in the process of converting to the digital HD Radio system with more than 500 HD Radio broadcasters currently on the air. Signal fading, static, hisses and pops are a thing of the past. Data services such as displayed song and artist information, weather and traffic alerts and much more will revolutionize the way you experience AM and FM radio. And it's all FREE for the consumer, just like today's analog AM and FM radio. To find an HD Radio station and for more information, visit www.hdradio.com.
