20061019081520.jpgWhile Haier may not be in the same league as a Dell or a HP when it comes notebooks, however the company is making considerable progress in the computing world. At the KES 2006, Haier Korea unveiled its 14-inch wide laptop, the 'W61N'. This new notebook is powered by the hot favorite Intel Core 2 Duo CPU (945 chipset) and thus promises to be quite a little speedster! It is housed in an elegant silver/black casing and also has a webcam for video telephony and chatting.

The W61N base model would be equipped with a 14 inch WXGA LCD (1280x768) and a 80GB Hard Drive. Running memory-hogging applications won't be a problem and the base model comes with 512MB of RAM, which is now considered standard. For its Operating system the notebook uses Windows XP Home and it also has a combo optical drive. No word on pricing or availability.
