gateway.jpgGateway is a Japanese notebook brand which is quite famous on the design. Gateway has just announced their new notebook, the Gateway MP8701J which is one of the high-end models that boasts an Intel Core Duo T2300E 1.66GHz processor. MP8701J has two options for you: a 17-inch WSXGA+ TFT LCD with screen resolutions of 1680 x 1050 or a 15.4-inch WXGA TFT LCD with screen resolutions of 1280 x 800. Both boast an Intel 945GM Express chipset, 1GB RAM, GeForce Go 7600 with 128MB RAM, 120GB of hard disk storage and Super-Multi DVD drive. In addition, it has a built-in IEEE802.11a/b/g wireless LAN, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, IEEE1394 port, four USB 2.0 ports, Type2 PC Card slot, S-Video output and D-Sub 15 pin connection. A simple 3-in-1 media card reader is also included. Both notebooks run on Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. The 17-inch MP8701J weights 3.5kg with the size of 402 x 272 x 36mm while the 15-inch MP8701J weights 2.9kg and 358 x 264 x 36 mm in dimensions. Both models will be available from July 22nd with the price of 179,800Yen (17-inch) (USD1,529) and 159,800Yen (15-inch) (USD1,359).
