Garmin's next update to the GPSMAP 60C is here, with the announcement of GPSMAP 60Cx. Targeting outdoor and marine use, the GPSMAP 60Cx comes in a rugged housing that is also waterproof. The device now comes with support for removable storage, thanks to the microSD slot available in the waterproof battery compartment.
You are greeted by a 256-color transflective TFT screen capable of 160x240 pixel resolution. The device also comes with built-in celestial tables for solar and lunar calculations, as well as the best times to hunt and fish.
On 2 AA batteries, Garmin claims that the 60Cx can run up to 30 hours. The package includes an empty 64MB microSD card, but if you want, you can separately purchase cards that are preloaded with MapSource Topo and inland lake maps, BlueChart marine cartography and City Navigator street-level maps.
Priced around US $482, additional information on the Garmin GPSMAP 60Cx is available on Garmin.
