While the GMR 404 has a 4-foot scanner with 1.8-degree beam width, the 406 sports a 6-foot antenna takes beam width down to 1.1-degrees. Data on both scanners are digital processed and they have a maximum range of 72 nautical miles. One can view the processed data on any of the chartplotter/multifunction GPSMAP® 3000 series displays.

The scanners have been ergonomically designed so that they are not an eye sore and complement any modern boat or yacht.
