    Fujitsu DynaMO 1300 Pocket Drive with DICOM ViewerFujitsu will be launching their new DynaMO 1300 Pocket Drive with DICOM Viewer during the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) 2005 Annual Conference, October 6-9, 2005 in Dallas, Texas. The MO in DynaMO, in case you missed it, stands for Magneto-Optical storage.

    The DynaMO 1300 is a portable USB 2.0 drive targeted at healthcare professionals, enabling them to easily transport DICOM images and data on 3.5" MO disks, from ultrasound machines to PCs/workstations for later review. The MO disks, or MODs, are enclosed in a floppy-sized (remember floppies, anyone?) cartridge giving it resistance to shock, dust, magnetic fields, etc. The MOD's casing is perfect for long periods of archiving.

    The integrated DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) viewer is an added bonus for the healthcare professional.

    At the conference, Fujitsu will be demo-ing the DynaMO 2300U2 drive, which offers 2.3GB of storage.
