One of the disadvantages of listening to music from a portable device such as an iPod is that even headphones do not give a good Surround Sound experience. However, Friendtech has solved that problem with the SRS Magic Woofer (part of the iDea Line). The SRS Woofer is a device that can plug into any portable audio or video player and produce quality Surround Sound.

The SRS Magic Woofer operates via one button control on a LED system. With a Built-in Li-Polymer Rechargeable Battery, it can play back 9 hours with one full charge. It supports SRS CS, DTS, AC3, and MP3 SX. It can virtualize the channels, and create “phantom” speakers that extend around you. For those that like the portable video games, the SRS Magic Woofer should be quite a kick.

The complete package contains the SRS Magic Woofer, a Tailor-made Cell Phone Audio Adapter, 2.5/3.5mm Jack Convertor, Home Stereo Cables, and Earphone Splitter. It is slated to ship in late September 2006 for about $79.99.
