lightbook.jpgEvesham engineers have come out with what they claim as the lightest notebook on the market with a built in optical drive, the Light Book. Featuring 12.1-inch XGA display, the notebook measures 283 x 238 x 35mm and weighs just 1.2kg. We are not sure if this is the lightest notebook available but only time will tell.

On the technical side, the notebook is no pushover as it features an Intel Core Solo low voltage processor backed by Intel GMA 950 video engine and 512MB DDR 533 RAM. You can expect a reasonable performance but it is certainly not a powerful one by any stretch of your imagination. Other specs include 60GB drive, built-in optical drive(not often seen in a notebook of this size) Wi-Fi, 4-in-1 car reader, built-in audio and speakers. There is a wide selection of ports, including 3x USB and also features security via finger print identification.
