Don’t look now, but I believe the world of micro cassette recording has gone pretty much all digital. All right, maybe we aren’t past the cassette era yet, but Roland’s Edirol is a definite shift in the right direction.

This recorder is already being used by professionals from musicians, podcasters, courtroom lawyers, reporters, and college students. It uses 24-bit linear PCM recording that uses USB connectivity. A recent update in the firmware has made it possible to use more than just 2GB SD memory cards.

The Edirol R-09 Wave/MP3 Recorder should be available everywhere. Better make certain that the new firmware, 1.10 has been installed.
