    Edirol R-09 Flash RecorderFlash recorders have been in the market for a while, with most of them aimed at the consumer market and a few for the professionals. Now Edirol has come out with a professional-grade portable recorder, the R-09 Flash Recorder.

    The Edirol R-09 offers a no-nonsense interface - simple and effective. It brings the best of features from Edirol's previous voice recorder models, including 24-bit uncompressed recording and stereo microphone. Don't mistake it for an underdog: it supports 44.1kHz or 48kHz sample rates for high levels of clarity. You can also record and play back in MP3 format up to 320 kbps.

    An external mic can be used for added clarity with the 1/4" mic input. You can control ambience when playing WAV/MP3 files through the internal reverb processor. PC connectivity is via a USB 2.0 interface.
