E-TEN G500+ Pocket PC phone
E-TEN, builders of the first Chinese language input system for DOS based computers, recently launched its new Pocket PC Phone with built-in GPS in G500+ phone. The G500+ is very similar to most other pocket PC phones that are hovering in the market right now, but what separates it from the rest is that it includes a GPS device as well. One of the very few phones that integrates all the functions needed by mobile professionals or frequent travelers in one single package.
The G500+ is a QUAD band(850/900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM phone with EDGE(Class B, Multi-slot Class 10 ) capabilities. The phone is powered by a 400Mhz processor and it runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 software. It comes with an increased 256MB of flash ROM and 64MB SDRAM and you can always expand the memory using the Mini SD card slot. Apart from that, it includes a newly integrated FM radio that supports advanced RDS functionality and boasts an intuitive interface.
Featuring a 240 x 320, 65,536 colors transmissive TFT-LCD screen, the phone also boasts of a 1.3 MegaPixel camera with 4x digital zoom. The phone also includes a media player and supports MIDI , WAV, MP3, WMA, AMR, AWB, MMF, RMI, AAC playback. Video recording is also made possible. On the connectivity side, the phone is a marvel as it features high speed internet browsing, Embedded SiRF Star III chipset, TMC function supported, bluetooth 2.0, class 2 and Personal information management and full email support (IMAP/POP3). No word on the pricing and availability as yet.
