Didigo Smart USB Flash Drive with Bi-stable Cholesteric LCD DisplayDidigo has announced the launch of the world's first USB Flash Drive - the Didigo DD01 - that is smart enough to display the drive's remaining capacity without the need for a battery. Quite a handy feature I would say.

How does ir do this? Using a Bi-stable Cholesteric LCD Display. Now, repeat after me ... Bi-stable Cholesteric LCD Display. In layman terms, the drive updates its display each time you plug-in the device. When you unplug the drive, it manages to latch on the last display without the need for a power source. The LCD content can be customized with a personal label. It also displays a fancy pie-chart if you want it to.

The drive supports USB 2.0 and comes in capacities of 128 / 256 / 512 MB, 1 / 2 / 4 GB. Pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
