Dell XPS M2010 Portable Entertainment PC
Get ready to drool! Dell is back with a bang, this time with upgraded systems in their XPS line-up. The new Dell XPS M2010 is a multimedia powerhouse with a massive 20.1" widescreen for the best entertainment on a mobile PC.
The Dell XPS M2010's design is like no other. When this mobile entertainment PC is closed, it looks similar to a leather case. Powered by Intel Core Duo processors and an ATI Mobility Radeon X1800 graphics card, Dell has also thrown in a 1.3 megapixel webcam. The 20.1" monitor will come alive with true-to-life images at WSXGA+ resolutions (1680 x 1050 pixels).
If you remember, the Dell XPS M2010 was, in fact, demo'ed at the 2006 CES. The M2010 offers eight speakers apart from a sub-woofer. It also includes a slot-load DVD drive (the one that you normally see on laptops), saving a bit of space in the process. It comes fully equipped to handle any type of media thanks to a 13-in-2 media card reader.
Bluetooth is everywhere: the Dell XPS M2010 uses a detachable full-size Bluetooth keyboard with integrated touch pad, as well as a Bluetooth remote control with gyroscopic mouse control and an LCD screen so you can navigate and play audio files easily. Expansion ports include 4 USB ports, IEEE 1394, SPDIF and analog 7.1/5.1 audio.
Base weight starts at 18.3 pounds. The system runs Windows XP Media Center Edition, and the memory is upgradeable to 4GB DDR2 SDRAM. Prices start from US $3,500. More details from Dell. Features in the extended entry.
