Dell launched the new XPS M170 powerhouse, a laptop truly aimed for the gamer in you, packed with some of the latest technologies. Powered by an Intel Pentium M processor, the M170 delivers pure performance without draining out your battery.
The XPS M170 comes pre-loaded with Windows XP Media Center Edition, incorporating best-in-class software for managing and accessing your multimedia, including photo/video editing, an integrated TV tuner, DVD player among other features. A 17" TFT active matrix WUXGA (1920x1200) display and NVIDIA 256MB GeForce Go 6800 ULTRA complete this gamer's paradise.
Dell has indeed pushed the limits with the XPS M170, targeting it at the mobile user looking for not only sturdy performance, but also as a desktop replacement for home. With an 80GB Ultra ATA hard drive, the one thing that's missing from the "standard" XPS M170 is a DVD burner; yeah, it comes with only a 24x CD burner and DVD read capabilities, but that's not sufficient. You can, of course, choose to customize it with an 8x DVD+/-RW burner. Connectivity options are available in the form of an integrated 56k modem and 10/100/1000 gigabit ethernet support.
Prices start at US $2,699, and the XPS M170 is available from Dell's website.
