Dell has finally broken down and released a laptop with an AMD processor. That’s right, the Dell E1501 Inspirion is the first of its type, with either AMD Turion 64, Turion 64x2 or Sempron CPU.

This 15.4 inch laptop is full of features. It has 512 MB of main memory, 256MB shared memory, ATI RADEON Xpress 1150 integrate graphics, Dell Wireless 802.11 g Mini card, 60 GB hard drive, CD-RW/DVD optical drive combo, as well as the Windows XP operating system.

The Dell E1501 Inspirion is available on the Dell site for about $549. That is pretty cheap for a laptop, and the prices are probably going to fall even lower, I’m sure.
