Today Dell announced the availability of their new XPS M140 notebook PC. Processor options start from a Pentium M 740 (1.73GHz) to Pentium M 770 (2.13GHz) for the XPS M140 that features a 14.1" WXGA display.

The standard version comes with several low-end options like a 40GB 4200rpm hard drive, 512MB RAM and an integrated graphics card, the Graphics Media Accelerator 900. Of course, the RAM is expandable up to 2GB. It's good that Dell is bundling a CD/DVD burner and 5-in-1 media card reader.

Users can choose to get the XPS M140 with either Windows XP Home or Professional or even the Media Center Edition, but be sure to upgrade to (at least) 1GB before selecting MCE. Connectivity options include an Intel PRO Wireless 2200 (802.11 b/g), which can be replaced with a Wireless 2915 (802.11 a/b/g), and a modem. Four USB 2.0 ports and an Ethernet card complete the package.

Slated for shipping in November 2005, the Dell XPS M140 starts at US $999, and can be ordered online at Dell.
