Apparently, the LG cell phone with its “everybody loves chocolate” slogan has encouraged another company, Coby, to come out with its own version of chocolate. Judging from the color scheme, it looks like a mix of dark and white chocolate. Someone call Hershey’s on that one.

Yet the Coby MP-C951 is not a cell phone, but an MP3 player, and looks suspiciously like an iPod. (Then again, what MP3 player doesn’t these days?) Not only is it designed for portable, quality stereo sound, but this chocolate has a variety of nuts thrown in.

Let’s start with the basics. It looks like the little “Chocolate Bar” uses touch sensitive controls, and it has a full-color LCD screen. It has up to 20 GB worth of memory, which is enough to store about ten thousand songs in WMA format. It also supports OGG and MP3 music files. It is also able to support JPEG image files, which probably means that you will be able to put your latest pictures on the Chocolate as well. Not only that, but it can support AVI video. I’m not certain how much video you can get on 20 GB, but hey. Did I happen to mention that the Chocolate also has a built-in FM Tuner and Voice Recorder too? Looks like I did just now.

Other features include its real-time MP3 encoding, which requires no PC. As for PC access, the MP-C951 has upgradeable firmware and supports Windows 98SE, Windows ME, 2000, XP, and Mac OS. The rechargeable Lithium Polymer Battery is good for 12 hours of use. Something tells me that time might be cut short in video playback mode.

The Coby MP-C951 Chocolate is available now for about $210 USD. The kit comes with professional stereo earphones, USB Cable, Installation CD, Carrying Case, 100-240V AC Adapter, and Line-in Cable.
