Cingular is Now the New AT&T
Say goodbye to Cingular - the six year old brand will soon be folding, but only in name. The Cingular Wireless service will be re-branded and re-named, reflecting the purchase of SBC, BellSouth and Cingular that AT&T finalized last year.

Cingular customers will not have to worry about losing their service; it's only getting a new name - AT&T. AT&T is set to launch a massive advertising and branding campaign to reflect the new branding of the company. The multimedia campaign is set to launch on January 15th.
If you recall, last year AT&T also bought out SBC and BellSouth. Following that acquisition, "SBC" and "BellSouth" were phased out and a massive advertising campaign was launched. Remember the tv and radio commercials featuring the popular Oasis tune "All Around the World"? You know, the ones they played so much that if after watching tv or radio for any length of time you didn't know SBC was now AT&T you must be living under a rock? New ads are coming. They're likely to be just as effective.
The change will be gradual. Cingular callers will now hear about AT&T when they call. Cingular wireless stores and kiosks will slowly transition, reflecting branding that shows both AT&T and Cingular. Then, one day, Cingular will be no more, and it will be just AT&T.
