Verizon One Phone
At the CES show this week, Verizon unveiled its next generation "Verizon One" Home Communications Center for FiOS customers.
"Verizon On" is an all-in-one device that brings voice, data and video to your home.
Verizon One will be manufactued exclusively for Verizon ViOS Internet customers under a multi-year contract with OpenPeak. This new device is sleeker and more powerful than the current Verizon One device. The new Verizon One features a digital cordless phone mounted on a tablet sized base. The display screen is a 7-inch, high resolution touchscreen which provides solutions for multiple household communication needs. You can access email, voice mail, log into personal calendars and address books, consult movie listings, and check the latest news and weather. Other features that Verizon hopes to include in the future are the ability to access traffic reports, order a pizza or movie tickets online, and send memors or text messages to family members.
The new Verizon One Home Communications Center will also accomodate both traditional and VoIP phone calls. It can stream music from the Internet to be replayed over the attached speakers, and you can preview images of video from cameras and camcorders. Preview movie trailers, connect to a printer, and support a total of 5 handsets throughout the home.
The services will be available through a combined, built-in WiFi and ethernet connection to allow access to online content. Multiple USB ports make it easy to connect a variety of peripheral devices. The communications center can be located anywhere that there is a phone jack and electrical outlet.
The Verizon One Home Communication Center for FiOS customers is expected to be available this spring for an undisclosed price.

This has been confirmed by the CEO of Verizon Wireless Denny Strigl, Verizon Wireless chief marketing officer John Stratton and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.
Verizon Wireless has launched the third cell phone to support V Cast Music, the new Verizon CDM 8945. It joins the LG VX8100 and the Samsung SCH-a950, as the third phone to support the V Cast system. In case you are wondering what V Cast is all about, it's a system that allows users to download music and digital audio from the Internet to their mobile phones, using a computer as a gateway. It's very similar to how you would use a portable music player. The phone also supports Video on Demand.
