Casio E03CA Cell Phone

Casio E03CA Cell Phone

After convergence, toughness seems to be the new mantra of cell phone manufacturers. Casio unleashed the new E03CA cell phone, boasting high levels of waterproof efficiency as well as embodying a shock-resistant body.

Casio entered the cell phone business in 2000, and made a mark for itself with the G'zOne Type R phone. The E03CA includes Bluetooth support and a camera, with a largish 2.4" QVGA screen (main display). The phone is compatible with CDMA 1X EV-DO standard, so watch out for high-speed data access on this baby.

Battery life is claimed at 380 hours on standby and 300 minutes of talk-time. The Casio E03CA weighs in at 166 grams - a bit on the heavier side for those used to the RAZR and its clones. It supports MicroSD memory cards for expanding on the available memory.

The Casio E03CA cell phone is now available to KDDI customers in Japan.

    Casio G'zOne W42CA Cell Phone

Casio Upgrades G'zOne, Calls It G'zOne W42CACasio's G'zOne has just had a makeover, and now includes more features and functionality than before. The G'zOne W42CA is water-resistant and shockproof, like its predecessor, but they have been enhanced to new levels. In addition, the G'zOne W42CA includes, for the first time, CDMA1X WIN compatibility for the latest in high-speed communications and services.

Now, with enhanced toughness, you can enjoy music-on-demand and other such services. The G'zOne W42CA includes a big 2.4" QVGA LCD display, with an auto-focus 2 mega-pixel camera, 50MB on-board memory and support for expansion via microSD cards.

Compatible with Listen Mobile Service (LISMO), Casio claims a 15-hour music playback on this baby, and when used in conjunction with a GPS, you can use its map-loading facilities to get driving directions. The new G'zOne W42CA has a futuristic look and feel to it.

Available in Volcano Orange, Glacier White (my personal fav) and Manaus Green, the pricing and availability of Casio G'zOne W42CA cell phone will be announced soon.

  • Casio Japan. Countries it will be available in is not known yet.

    Casio G'zone Type-R Cell Phone

casio_gzone.jpgYesterday MobileWhack was the first to report on the LG canU water-resistant phone. Today we stumbled across a press release by Casio of Japan regarding the same phone but branded differently. Casio is calling it the G'zone Type-R.

Interestingly enough when you visit their official website, you'll get a very similar version of the same Japanese, flash-based website.

Aside from all the features we reported yesterday we also found out that users can customize their protectors depending on preference (see styles below). The phone not only has a stop watch but a real watch as well. The Casio version of the phone comes in Green flag, Red zone and Black mark.
