HTC Kaiser Phone - CES Special

htc_kaiser_thumb4.jpgWith the impending CES Show, more and more companies are unveiling their new products. The latest one to do so is HTC which have big plans for their upcoming HTC Kaiser Phone .

The HTC Kaiser Phone design wise, seeks inspiration from popular HTC TyTN and HTC P4350 handsets. The Kaiser will be a high end smartphone with features like;3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 400Mhz Processor. Nothing else is known about the Kaiser and we have to wait for CES for more updates!

"Another keyboard model, which is supposed to be issued in spring, is HTC Kaiser. Its form-factor is already known on HTC TyTN and HTC P4350 (Herald). Actually, it will be a slightly modified and advanced TyTN, which will have a GPS receiver in addition to the same QVGA-screen, the support of 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a powerful processor (400Mhz). It is a compelled step as the HTC cannot compete with the E-Ten, which sells Glofiish X500 and Glofiish M700. The only device with similar characteristics is HTC P3300 with a weak 200 MHz processor."

HTC Athena X7500

HTC-Athena_3.jpgWe here at the Whack like gadgets which lead a double life and the HTC Athena X7500 falls into this much coveted category! The X7500 is not an UMPC, neither just a mobile phone! It is actually a Pocket PC Phone and on attaching the optional QWERTY turns into a bonafied personal computer on the go!

On the specs front; this is how it reads; 5” VGA (640x480 pixels) display (and TV-out), 8-10GB of Hard Disc memory and 624MHz Intel Bulverde processor. The HTC Athena X7500 will be available in two quad-band versions; the UMTS 850/1900 for our friends in the States and the UMTS 2100 for the European folks out there. Supporting HSDPA, one also comes across features like; Bluetooth v2.0, WiFi (802.11b/g/e), miniUSB, 3.5mm stereo audio jack with mic, : 6 hours of talk time; 300+ hours of standby; 8 hours of WMV video playback.

The HTC Athena X7500 measures 5.24x3.8x0.78 inches (133x97x20 mm) and weighs around 350 grams. It should retail in the US for around around 1500-2000 bucks.

HTC Vox S710 Smartphone

htc-vox-bgr.jpg

It has recently surfaced amongst the mobile electronics community that HTC is going to put out a new Vox phone, a nice little GSM number with the official name of S710.

Some of the rumored features are the sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 2.4 inch QVGA screen, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g Wifi, a 2 Megapixel camera, and even a micro SD slot. As far as memory is concerned, it will probably feature 128 MB of ROM and 64MB of RAM.

You will note that I am not using any definite verbs for these descriptors. I've looked at what commentators are saying about the picture, and they've noticed a slight flaw. Take a look at the screen, and compare it to the corners of the bezel. Whoa! Are the graphics going outside of the borders? Either this phone is better than I'm hearing about, or someone leaked a Photoshopped picture just to get the rumor mill spinning.

You may also notice that even though this guy carries Windows Mobile, there doesn't appear to be a way to control it. That is, assuming there is no touchscreen, there isn't any buttons for scrolling purposes. While we're at it, let's talk about the screen in comparison to the QWERTY keyboard. I don't know if I could practically use a keyboard that is flipped like this. I mean, it's sideways, for crying out loud! Most smartphones usually have their screens as a wide, not like this.

Something tells me that there is probably some truth to these rumors, at least as far as the specs are concerned. I'm betting that this photo was probably made simply so that consumers would have something to look at, therefore something to look forward to. This is the "sight and sound" generation, and I think we would be bored with just a rumored spec sheet. So don't be surprised if the HTC Vox S710 Smartphone does come out with all those features, looking nothing like the picture. Or maybe it will. Until then, let's just assume that HTC is not in the final stage of this phone.

HTC Vox Pocket PC Phone

HTC%20VOX.jpgHere's the latest rumor straight from the internet rumor mill. We know that HTC always has a number of new smartphones in the works. The latest to come to light through the Internet rumor mill goes by the name of VOX. The full size, slide out QWERTY keyboard is quiet evident from the pic acquired and unlike most other HTC smart phones with sliding keyboards, this one isn't a Pocket PC, instead it is the first Windows Smartphone with one. According to sources, it won't have the usual touch sensitive screen but still should include other normal stuffs like Wi-Fi, EDGE support and Bluetooth. More info about the phone is expected in early 2007. Anyway we will keep you updated.

HTC P4350

11_20_06---htc-p4350.jpg

The last time we reported about the HTC Herald, we didn’t really know that much about it. Now, thanks to some more info, we have found that the HTC Herald has been officially named the HTC P4350.

We were right on several facts. The HTC Herald or HTC P4350 is a lovely quad-band unit with EDGE connectivity and a QWERTY keyboard. It also has a lovely 2.8 inch touchscreen with 64MB of internal RAM and 128MB of ROM, as well as a Micro SD slot.

What we were wrong on was the camera. Apparently, I had reported that it was a 3 Megapixel, when the P4350 is actually a 2 Megapixel. Whoops. I forgot to mention that this baby has Microsoft Outlook and a keen little 5 way navigational stick. The picture that I had last time looks very different than the one I have now, too.

We also didn’t have the price. Expect the HTC Herald or HTC P4350 to be “around $735”, and that is a direct quote.

HTC Cavalier Excalibur Replacement

HTC Cavalier Excalibur Replacement

If you thought the HTC Excalibur would stick around for a while, think again. HTC is already busy putting the finishing touches on a major update to the Excalibur. Codenamed the HTC Cavalier, the new device features a 400MHz Samsung CPU among other interesting features.

What's more, it's a quad-band UMTS/HSDPA phone supporting the older GPRS/EDGE networks as well. And if that's not enough, there's always Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) to fall back to.

Cavalier will have a 2.4" QVGA screen and a 2 megapixel camera. HTC has fit in 64MB of RAM. Unfortunately there are no sneak peeks yet, but they should be out soon.

New HTC P4350 Phone rumored

htcp4350_0.jpg

Another mobile electronics rumor has surfaced yet again. This one is about HTC, and the possible release of a new smartphone called the HTC P4350 (aka: HTC Herald). This particular communicator seems to model itself after the Qteck 9100.

If it is true, then the HTC P4350 is a GSM/GPRS/EDGE communicator equipped with 128 MB RAM. It is both Bluetooth and Wi-fi compatible, and has a MicroSD and 2 Megapixel camera. All of this will be powered by Windows Mobile 5.0.

Well, it might be a while before this rumor proves true, until then, keep watching for it.

    HTC Herald

htc_herald.jpgImagine if you threw a cell phone, a PDA, a UMPC, and a camera into a blender and hit “Mix”. Assuming you would have a functional device, the end result would be the HTC Herald, which is loaded with features.

The device is a cell phone with GSM/EDGE, as well as Quadband. The display is a 2.8 inch QVGA screen with 240 x 320 resolution. Nice. It looks like a PDA, but on the side is a QWERTY-style slide keyboard. Also nice. In addition to this, the device is completely wireless capable with both 802.11 b/g WiFi and Bluetooth. Very nice!

Other features include a 3 Megapixel camera as well as a Micro SD slot. All this in a device with 64MB of RAM and 128MB of ROM that is only 17mm thick.

    Cingular 3125 Review

    htc-star-trek-1.jpg
Get this Phone Now for the
    Best Price on the Internet!

The Cingular 3125 /HTC Star Trek has been reviewed by the website Mobility Site and let’s see what they think about this smart clamshell Windows Mobile Phone. They found the handset appealing for its current Windows Mobile O.S. with A2DP profile and the intuitive and stylish form factor. The handset also scored brownie points for its upgradeable ROM, top notch external screen, its battery life and its price tag of $149.99 w/contract. Things they didn’t dig? Well there is the proprietary connector and the lack of Wi-Fi. The fact that the handset needs to be switched off for changing the Micro SD card is also a minor irritant. The onboard camera is also no great shakes!

The new Cingular 3125 is a slim smartphone which some great onboard features. It gets it juice from the Texas Instrument OMAP processor and supports EDGE, GPRS, and GSM Quadband. The camera has the now standard 1.3 Megapixel resolution and the phone has some nifty applications like the Windows Media Player 10. Other features include; Bluetooth, 2.2" 240 x 320 LCD Internal display, 64 MB RAM; 128 MB flash ROM, Push Email, Stereo Bluetooth, Pocket Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger, Text Messaging etc.

In the end the website writes “Overall, I say this phone is a winner. We have Windows Mobile on a phone that costs less than $200, looks better than the RAZR, and performs well. The shortcomings of the Cingular 3125 fall far behind the positives. For me, no WiFi and poor camera does not affect me much at all. The Proprietary connector is easy to get around as well using Bluetooth headphones. Having a Windows Mobile Smartphone that flat our works is enough.”

8525-small.jpgDon’t you love it when products are accidentally leaked on the net? Looks like the Cingular 8525 Phone HTC Hermes has suffered the same fate and has taken the mobile world by complete surprise! Nothing much is known about the phone except that it would be available on the Cingular network. A front facing camera has been disabled allegedly on the network’s request as they are not ready to support video calling. In all probability, it will support the same firmware which was seen in the previous models.
