hipi-2200 By Paragon Wireless

hipi-2200dfg.jpgParagon Wireless has updated their portfolio by launching a dual-mode smartphone, the hipi-2200. The handset sports quite a ‘hip’ design with its sleek ergonomics and ultra slim form factor! This one ain't your usual run of the mill phone and the handset is also the world’s first SIP-based Windows Mobile 5.0® dual-mode handset! Which in English means that it sports VoWLAN/GSM brand technology under its pretty hood and you don’t have to be a genius to switch from VoIP to cell networks!

The hipi-2200 uses Windows Mobile 5.0 as its O.S. and also has a 2 megapixel shooter and a 1.9” 176x220 pixel LCD. In this feature crazy world, the handset can safely holds its own thanks to the onboard MP3/MP4, camcorder/recorder, expansion slot for microSD and the phone is also internet friendly. The battery is capable of 4 hours of talk time, or 200 hours standby with GSM and Wi-Fi working simultaneously. No word on pricing or availability as of now.

Cell Wireless Corporation to launch mobile Wi-Fi Cell VoIP phone

Cell Wireless Corporation has announced the launch of its new "mobile Wi-Fi Cell VoIP phone." If you're wondering what such a product can do, it will allow customers to use Cell Wireless's VoIP software and telephony technology when they connect to any public internet "Hot Spot" such as in airports, hotels, and coffee shops. Plus, it can also be used as a home/office phone as long as there is a wireless internet connection available.

Availability is scheduled for the first quarter of 2006. The new mobile Wi-Fi Cell VoIP phones will be marketed by EzTel's (recently acquired by Cell Wireless) 40,000 sales agents throughout the U.S.A. and by the 153,000 Cell Wireless members worldwide.

With industry research pointing to a steady increase in VoIP traffic in the future, companies such as Cell Wireless Corporation are ready to jump into the bandwagon. John Bohringer, CEO of Cell Wireless Corporation, said, "This exciting development allows members to call each other using a mobile Wi-Fi Cell VoIP phone -- free of charge. It will also include free VoIP conference calls and free VoIP chat rooms. Our existing 153,000 members will benefit greatly from this new phone and it will dramatically increase new memberships and profit. As cities like New York, San Francisco and Philadelphia cover their cities with wireless internet access there will be a boom in mobile Wi-Fi Cell VoIP phone usage."
