s3is_586x225.jpgCanon's new digicam The Canon PowerShot S3 IS is tagged as a hybrid camera optimal for the Point and Shoot Users. Extremely user friendly and adaptable the S3 a 6MP digicam is both for serious photographers and those want to capture those precious family moments. The Canon S3 IS is an enhanced version of Canons S2 and thus boasts of great additional features. The 6MP image sensor and Canons DIGIC II image processor gets great of the dreaded image noise and produces sharp and brilliant images.

The Canon PowerShot S3 has an impressive 12x zoom lens (36-432 mm) which captures stunning pictures both in macro and micro modes. The optical zoom can further be amplified by S3s 4x digital zoom which produces a range of a whopping 1728mm.Because of the 12x zoom lens Canon has incorporated its Image Stabilization Technology which is essential for reducing camera shake and blurriness. The Canon Powershot S3 also captures video at ease and records high quality VGA movies at 30fps.There is also a QVGA 320 x 240-pixel setting of 15 or 30 fps. The S3 also features what Canon calls ‘Movie Snap”. With this particular function it is possible to capture upto 6MP still images while recording videos making the Canon S3 extremely multi functional.

The Canon PowerShot S3 IS being a hybrid camera has a 2.0 inch Vari-Angle LCD screen which swings out in any direction for easy access and viewing. There is a Sports Mode too in the S3 where with the combo of high shutter speeds and aperture beautiful action shots can be captured at an ease. Color Mode includes the standard Sepia, Color and B&W whereas My Color Mode includes Vivid Blue, Vivid Green, and Vivid Red. The S3 will be priced for around $499.99 and will hit the stores around May 2006. Canon USA
