Canon PowerShot A430 - 4 Megapixel Digital Camera

Canon has launched the Canon PowerShot A430, an entry level digital camera that features a 4-megapixel CCD and a Canon 4x optical zoom lens. It runs on two AA-sized batteries. The display is comprised of an 1.8-inch clear and bright LCD. The Canon A430 also features a digital zoom of 3.6x thereby taking the combined zoom capability to 14x.
A highlight of the A430 is the "Super Macro Mode," which allows you to close-up on a subject up to 0.4 inches. Other shooting modes provided include Auto, Manual, Portrait, Foliage, Snow, Beach, Fireworks, Indoor, Kids and Pets, Night, Color Accent etc. For video recording, the Canon A430 lets you shoot in VGA Movie Mode (640 x 480) at 10 fps or QVGA Movie Mode (320 x 240) at 30 fps with sound. You can also select the Compact Movie Mode (160 x 120) and record at 15 fps for up to 3 minutes.
ISO speeds supported range from 64 to 400. A 16:9 Widescreen resolution option, allows you to capture images and movies that are ideal for viewing on widescreen TVs and computer monitors. Connectivity options include high-speed USB and Pict Bridge.
The Canon Power Shot A430 will be available from March 2006 at an estimated retail price of US$179.99.
