canon-media-storage-m30-m80.jpgAnnounced at the Photokina 2006 Show today, was the Canon Media Storage M30 and M80. The two new viewers are housed with non removable disk capacities of 30 and 80 gigabytes, respectively, allowing for storage of content without discrimination. (Think big!)

Both portable digital photo/video gadgets feature a bright 3.7 inch display , (300 cd/qm brightness), 250:1 contrast ratio and a 640x480px resolution. A 160 degree rotational screen allows for a larger picture yield, and viewing of MPEG films. Integrated in the devices are slots for CF- and SD memory cards, USB-2.0, and PictBridge support for easy printing.

The cameras are conveniently portable weighing only 360 (M30) and 370 grams (M80with dimensions of 139,5 x 80.5 x 33.5 mm.

Data can be protected against unauthorized access with a four to eight-digit password, and file extensions are extended from JPEG to tiff, as well as MP3’s and WAVs.

Price and availability are to be announced in October.
