canon-eos-30d.jpgCanon, one of the most respected brands, today announced that, EOS 20D, one of the best selling Canon D-SLR cameras, gets an upgrade. The new Canon EOS 30D, which replaces the award winning EOS 20D, retains the 5fps, 8.2 Megapixel performance of its predecessor. The upgraded version, that is the new Canon EOS 30D comes with a 2.5" LCD for a wider and larger viewing angle and is powered by a extended 100,000 shutter cycle durability. The EOS 30D comes with a huge gype behind it as it replaces camera which has already won many hearts and not to mention it's significant share of the Western Europe D-SLR market. The Canon EOS 30D is targetted at an increasingly discerning population of serious creative photographers. The EOS 30D is the result of Canon's response to EOS 20D owner feedback. Apart from the widescreen and other feature mentioned above, it features Canon’s Picture Style pre-sets, Canon’s in-camera image processing standard. So what it means is that, Picture Styles can be likened to selectable film types for different photographic expression. Also owners have the luxury of selecting the Frame rates between 5 and 3fps and a Print/Share button is included and the camera features new advanced PictBridge functionality. Apart from that the EOS 30D features Canon’s award winning CMOS sensor technology, with large 6.4µm[2] pixels for wide dynamic range with low noise. Any random noice is also eliminated, thanks to the on-chip noise elimination circuitry. The Canon EOS 30D boasts of a DIGIC II processor, which is actually found across the digital EOS range. It basically maximises speed and image quality. Also on the compatibilty side, there is nothing to beat the EOS series as it is compatible with all Canon EF and EF-S lenses, EX-series Speedlites and EOS accessories such as the Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E1 and the EF-S lens mount allows connection to Canon’s range of lighter and wider angle lenses, including the new wide aperture EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM standard zoom lens. The camera is also compatible with BG-E2 battery grip, which houses two Lithium-Ion battery packs for up to 2,200[3] frames or six AA,batteries, all for a better battery life and on the connectivity side it includes USB 2.0 Hi-Speed and Video Out, which helps for a fast and easy transfer of data. The Canon EOS 30D will be available from March 2006, priced at(body only) £1099.99 RRP and $1399 USD. Canon's website
