The new Canon DC50 DVD camcorder is sure to please the most discerning of video enthusiasts and photo buffs. It incorporates ease of use and direct-to-DVD recording along with professional grade features.

Highlights of the DC50 include a robust 5.39 Megapixel CCD image sensor and RGB primary color filter, which together create vibrantly colored videos and brilliant 5 megapixel photos. Other features include a genuine Canon 10x optical and 200x digital zoom, superior zoom control, and optical image stabilization (OIS).

It accepts 3 inch DVD-R/-RW discs of either single or double layer capacity. A single layer 3" DVD will hold up to 60 minutes of video, and the double layer DVDs will allow up to 108 minutes.

The Canon DC50 camcorder will hit store shelves in February with a retail price of $799.
