canon-a710-is.jpgThe Canon A710 IS is a compact digital camera that really packs a resolution punch with a 7.1 MegaPixels. The camera combines functionality with photographic simplicity, all in a compact form factor that fits snugly in the hand. It also includes a large and bright 2.5-inch LCD screen, that features TFT design for a wide viewing angle, and the size of the screen makes it easier for users to read menu settings and preview or review their photos.

The Canon A710 IS is features a high resolution 7.1 Megapixel CCD with a 2.5 inch LCD screen and is powered by a DIGIC II imaging processor. As the name itself suggests, it incorporates Canon’s very own Image Stabilizer (IS) Technology, the A710 becomes the first A-Series model to provide image stabilization. The camera is equipped with a 6x optical zoom lens with shift-method image stabilizer and a focal length of 5.8–34.8 mm (35 mm film equivalent 35–210 mm). It includes Canon’s nine-point AiAF “Smart” autofocus system, offering 20 shooting modes, the standard shooting modes are Full Auto, Program, Manual, Shutter-priority, and Aperture-priority. Additional modes include Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, Special Scene (10 varieties), Stitch Assist and Movie. In addition there are two new shooting features for the PowerShot A-710 IS are Safety Zoom and Digital Tele-converter.

The A 710 IS Digital camera uses an SD memory card, SDHC memory card or MultiMediaCard as the recording media. A 16 MB memory card is included in the package. With optional high-capacity 4GB SDHC memory cards, camera is also capable of recording VGA movies with sound at 30 frames per second for up to 36 minutes per clip. Other additional features include PictBridge and USB2.0. The Canon A710IS is all set to hit the shelves this his October. We are not sure about the pricing though as yet.
