Cnet Reviews have put up their review about the Canon 30D Camera an upgrade to the ever popular EOS 20D. The upgrade version has enhancements like magnesium-alloy body, easy interface, customizable features and more importantly brilliant image resolution. However the battery life disappoints, the viewfinder isn’t big enough and at times the lens cast shadows. But overall it is a great camera no doubt.
The Canon 30D has an 8 Mega Pixel Sensor and a 2.5 inch LCD monitor. Another good point of this camera is that Canon has increased the number of sequential frames that can be captured in continuous-shooting mode to 30 JPEG or 11 raw shots, from 23 or 6, respectively. Shooting Programs include Close-up, Landscape, Sports mode, Portrait mode, Night portrait and Exposure Mode includes Bulb, Manual, Program, Automatic, Depth-of-field, Shutter-priority, Aperture-priority, E-TTL II program flash. The minimum shutter speed is 1/30 sec while the maximum is 1/8000 sec. Also Canon rates the shutter durability on this model for as much as 100,000 cycles something which is rarely seen.
Cnet Finally concludes by saying “There are a few aspects of the 30D that Canon didn't change but that could have used an update. The battery didn't last for the length of one of my shooting sessions, or about 250 photos. The lens still casts a shadow when using the onboard flash at wide-angle focal lengths with some lenses. And the viewfinder still shows only 95 percent of the scene. Nonetheless, it remains the top-notch model that the 20D was.â€
