Hitachi Hybrid DVD+HDD Camcorders

Hitachi has introduced a new line of Hybrid Camcorders, which allow consumers to shoot and capture many hours of video directly to the built-in hard drive without changing discs or tapes or running out of space.
To make these videos useable however, you need a way to transfer them easily to a DVD. Hitachi has made transfering videos saved to the hard drive to DVD easy. With just the push of a button, you can transfer to DVD right in the camcorder, making the Hitachi Hybrids the first and only camcorders in the world that have this feature.

With the Hitachi Hybrid DVD+HDD camcorders, consumers can record up to 23 hours of video, and dub a highlight reel with just one button. This allows you to completely bypass the PC. In this line of new hybrid camcorders are the DZH500A and the DZHS300A.

The DZH500A allows you to record to various formats, including the hard drive, as well as DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, and DVD+RW. It also features a 30GB hard drive, 30x optical zoom, and a SD memory card slot. It will be available in April for $800.The DZHS300A features an 8GB hard drive, 25x optical zoom, and a SD memory slot. This model is available for puchase now at the price of $600. For such great features and large storage, these are great prices.

Hitachi's world first hybrid DVD/HDD camcorder

hybridcamcorder.jpgHitachi has another world's first under its belt. After inventing the first ever DVD camcorder way back in 1999 , the company now takes top honors for developing first hybrid DVD/HDD camcorder in the world. The Hitachi DZ-HS303E features an 8-GB hard drive as well as DVD-burning capabilities, allowing you to do fun on-the-fly editing using the hard drive and then burning it to disc for easy viewing.

Well, one might wonder wisdom behind including both the functions in one single camcorder, but we know DVD & HDD camcorders have their own inherent advantages and limitations. HDD camcorders might allow on board editing capabilities, but once you've filled it, you're not shooting any more. On the contrary DVD means no editing. But how about having both at your disposal, that's exactly what Hitachi has tried with its new line of DVD/HDD camcorders.

The two models included are, the 1.3 Megapixel DZ-HS301E and the 3.3 Megapixel DZ-HS303E have an 8 gigabyte hard disk, which is enough room for 110 minutes of video at full resolution. Unlike other devices, once you've filled this, you can easily transfer the entire/desired contents to DVD, without having to look out for a computer.

Hitachi DZ-HS301 and DZ-HS303 Hybrid HDD/DVD Camcorders

hitachi_dz-hs303_tn.jpg

Hitachi’s newest sensation, the Hybrid HDD/DVD DZ-HS301 and DZ-HS303 Camcorders, are targeted to truly meet a customer’s needs. Both cameras will have 8GB worth of hard drive, which is enough to store 110 minutes of video footage. You can then burn the video footage onto a MiniDVD, without needing a PC or laptop.

The DZ-HS303 features a 2.7 inch widescreen LCD and 10x optical zoom. It can shoot three megapixel still photos, and has a battery life of 2 hours. The DZ-HS301 has the same size LCD, but a 15x optical zoom. It can take 1 megapixel still photos, and its battery lasts half as long.

The cameras should be available in the November, and the U.S. models will probably ship sometime after that. Pricing is estimated to be $999 USD on the DZ-HS301 and $1,279 USD on the DZ-HS303.

    Hitachi DZ-MV730A Camcorder Review

Hitachi DZ-MV730A CamcorderPro Review:camcorderinfo.com Review the Hitachi DZ-MV730A Camcorder and they say-"The DZ-MV730 is Hitachi’s entry-level DVD camcorder this year. It is armed with a mediocre imager, standard among lower-end DVD machines, and performs accordingly. While it also lacks a USB port, a big detriment to convenience-hungry consumers, the camcorder might be a nice, cheaper option to the DZ-MV780 or Sony's DCR-DVD7. The DZ-MV730 is Hitachi’s least advanced camcorder, CCD-wise. And it shows. The DZ-MV730 ships with a 1/6” CCD with 680K pixels (340K effective for both stills and video). The DZ-MV730 certainly performs worse than the other Hitachi we’ve tested, the DZ-MV780. This makes sense, as the DZ-MV780 has a bigger CCD with more pixels...."
