During the early days of the iPod, Mac planned to create a bulletproof case for the iPod. I'm not sure if the bulletproof iPod made it's way to the market or not. Bulletproof iPod? Ever heard of it before? Well, it was back in the early days when an unnamed person who lives in Kanto region in Japan got his iPod crushed to death in his pocket, jammed against the handrail on one of those famously cramped Japanese commuter trains. After the incident, he bought a new iPod. To protect his new iPod from a similar fate, he adopted Hummer logic and engineered his case to last: he speculates that the 5mm Aluminum A5052 shell could stop a 0.22 bullet. Naturally, he christened the project 'Armor Plate for iPod Photo'. The two halves of the case are held together with chunky M3 hex bolts. You'd certainly need the muscles of Vin Diesel to carry it: at 446gram, it is 2.5 times the weight of a new iPod Photo.
