pic_370x125_target_b.jpgHP has a unique way of testing their server. HP Certified Engineer had just proved that the HP StorageWorks XP12000 Disk Array is "BulletProof" , they tested at a distance of about 40 feet, using a real .308-caliber bullet traveling at 2,900 feet per second. Think about it, what happens when you put a refrigerator-size piece of computer hardware in its path? DOOM but not the HP StorageWorks XP 12000 Disk Array, It's still working fine, delivering smooth data and video streaming to the connected computer. They do the testing at a laboratory in Camden, Arkansas. On one side of the control room: a custom-made mounted rifle barrel that delivers bullets to a target with pinpoint accuracy. On the other side: an HP StorageWorks XP12000 Disk Array that’s operating under a full production load and streaming high-quality videos to nearby monitors. On the other side of the refrigerator-size computer, they put an aquarium filled with water. In just a fraction of a second, the bullet passes through the server and broke the aquarium. Want some proof? Check out the video here.
