BenQ C630 Digital Camera - 6-megapixel

BenQ C630 6-megapixel Digital Camera
Following the BenQ C530 is the 6-megapixel version of the same camera, the Ben C630. Like its 5MP version, the C630 also offers a 2.4" preview LCD.

The Shake-free function allows you to take precise images without any distortion due to shaking. A nice addition to an affordable camera. Moreover, the High ISO (800-1000) allows you to take images even under low-light conditions without requiring to use a flash.

The 3X optical zoom on the BenQ C630 is decent enough. The PictBridge capability is a useful addition when you want to print out your images - you don't have to be near a computer to do that; just get your C630 camera to a compatible printer and choose what to print. Another useful feature is the Auto Exposure Bracket - allowing you to take three consecutive shots with different EVs, so you can choose the best setting for your photos.

Available in black, white, red and blue, access more info about the BenQ C630 digital camera from BenQ's website.

BenQ C530 Digital Camera - 5-megapixel

BenQ C530 5-megapixel Digital CameraBenQ unveiled the BenQ C530, a new 5-megapixel camera with a 2.4" TFT LCD screen, upping its digital camera line-up. Touted to be affordable, the C530 comes in a new, ultra-compact design. The camera also provides 3X optical zoom.

The preview LCD offers a 480 x 234 pixel resolution offering better-than-before contrast. Some of the noteworthy features of the BenQ C530 (although they've been around in a several other cameras) include Shake-free and High ISO Portrait functions. The Shake-free function is useful in taking photos without distortion due to shaking of either the cameraman's hands or the subject being photographed. The High-ISO Portrait function, on the other hand, offers ISO between 800-1000 - allowing you to take photos even in dim light without the need for flash.

With the Auto Exposure Bracket, you can take 3 continuous photos with different exposure values, and decide on the ideal condition for you to get the best image quality. PictBridge support is another nicety on the BenQ C530.

Available in black, white, red and blue, more details about the BenQ C530 is available from BenQ's website.

BenQ X610: Compact 6-megapixel Digital Camera

BenQ X610 Digital CameraA refreshing new digital camera from BenQ, the BenQ X610 belongs to the Luxury series of cameras. Equipped with a 6-megapixel CCD, you can have up to 3x optical zoom with the X610. The camera made its debut at the CeBIT 2006.

One of the things that stands out in the X610 is its huge 3" LTPS LCD screen for image preview. The screen offers 230k pixel resolution for better clarity. An interesting feature is that the LCD includes two levels of brightness - backlight off and wide viewing angle.

You are not limited to digital still images, for the X610 lets you take videos as well, at VGA (640x480 pixel) resolution, at 30 frames-per-second, storing them in MPEG4 format. While I wouldn't advice you to throw away your handycam for this one, it does deliver good quality.

PC interface is via high-speed USB 2.0. The X610 includes built-in photo-editing functions like trimming, resizing, image rotation and color filter. With the touch of a few buttons you can even edit movies on the camera.

One of the sleekest models around, the BenQ X610 is a great travel accessory as well thanks to its compact size. While pricing is not known, more info is available from BenQ's website.

BenQ Unveils C530/C630 and E520+ Digital Cameras at CeBIT 2006

A small break from the Samsung blitzkreig that we've been having. BenQ unveiled quite a few digital cameras at the CeBIT 2006. Among them we noticed the following:

BenQ C530 and C630 Digital Cameras

BenQ C530
From BenQ's Classic series of digital cameras comes the C530. It's a 5-megapixel digital camera, with a largish 2.4" TFT LCD for previewing your images (and draining the battery, of course). Simplicity is the name of the game for the C530.

The Scene Mode allows you to capture shake-free images, while in the Printer Mode you can print images directly to a PictBridge compatible printer.

BenQ C630
It's pretty much everything the C530 is, except this one's a 6-megapixel camera. This one is also from the Classic range. The camera provides 3x optical zoom just like its youger sibling.

BenQ E520+ Digital Camera

BenQ E520+
The E520+ comes from the Elegance series of cameras from BenQ. Another 5-megapixel baby, this one comes with Pentax's SMC (super multi-coating) lens which enhances sharpness as well as image colors.

A 2.5" LTPS LCD screen is provided for image preview, and the display offers a healthy 230k pixel resolution for clarity.

Pricing has not yet been announced, but more info is available from BenQ's website.

BenQ P500 Digital Camera

BenQ P500 Digital CameraBenQ's new P500 digital camera has little to offer. It comes with a 5 megapixel CCD, offers 5x optical zoom (yes!) through a Pentax lens, and a 2.5” LTPS LCD (230K pixels, 960x240 pixels). It looks clean and simple. There's no absolutely must have feature that would make you run out and buy this camera. Probably explains the quiet launch on BenQ's website.

At 96 x 60.5 x 29.6 mm (W x H x D) and 165 grams (without the battery) it's convenient to lug around. Image resolution tops at 2560 x 1920 pixels. You can record movies in AVI and MPEG4 formats at 30fps and 640x480 resolution. Onboard memory is a decent 32MB with expansion possible through a SD slot. Connectivity is through USB and there's support for PictBridge as well.

Accessories bundled with the P500 include:

  • Lithium-ion Battery
  • USB Cable / AV Cable
  • AC Adapter
  • Conversion Adapter
  • Hand strap
  • User’s manual
  • Software CD
  • It's not available in the United States as of now.

BenQ Announces BenQ C500, C800 and X600 Digitial Cameras

BenQ C500 Digital CameraBenQ showcased three new Ultra-Slim digital camera models. The models are X600, C500 and C800. Of these, the X600 is the smallest - in fact the world's smallet - 6 megapixel camera, with a 3x optical zoom (sporting Pentax's SMC lens) and a 2.5" LCD screen. The X600 also offers photo-editing functions such as resizing, rotation, color filter, etc., so you don't have to be in front of a PC for all these functions. At 1.6" thickness, it's the slimmest camera yet.

The 2.5" display was a good choice by BenQ. Previewing photos and selecting menu options should be as easy and comfortable as possible. Many of the new DCs now are concentrating on this aspect as well.

The C500 is the lightest 5 megapixel camera, while the C800 is an 8 megapixel one, also with 3x optical zoon. Both of them are reasonably priced as well, according to BenQ.

The C800 offers a 2.4" LCD, and comes with 32MB built-in memory (which is quite insufficient, of course). It features a burst mode allowing you to take 4 shots per snap, and a special printer mode for direct printing to a compatible printer.
