Averatec 4360 Notebook
Averatec have recently launched its new Ultra-Portable Notebook which promises both functionality and affordability. The Averatec 4360 Laptop fits right in to the ultra portable world with its dimensions of 316x224x32mm. Averatec knows that thin is in (and no we are just talking about Paris Hilton)and the new notebook weighs just about 2 kgs and is compact enough to fit in a standard size briefcase. It may be lightweight but according to the folks at Averatec, the 4360 packs quite a punch with its 1.66GHz Intel Core Duo-Processor and a whopping 1GB memory of RAM.
The Averatec 4360 has up to 3 hours of battery life which is pretty decent, though at times I wonder how much would that translate into when playing multimedia content like videos. The on board 80GB of HD can be further expanded and the notebook also includes a WLAN in the standard configuration. Unlike some other ultra-portable notebooks(case in point Toshiba U200) this one doesn’t play Uncle Scrooge when it comes to features. So not only do you have WLAN but it also includes full technical set-up and the Averatec Notebook Suite. The application suite includes the Star Office application and also features back up solution Paragon Exact Image, Norton Internet Security and Marco Polo Euro Route GPS Edition.
The on board Svizzer Professional (funky name!) lets you search applications and files present on the PC and are extremely suitable for professional searches. Averatac has also thrown in a 4:1 memory card reader which supports MMC, SD Card, Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro, a dual-layer DVD drive, a PC Card slot and three high-speed USB 2.0 ports. If all this wasn’t already tempting you to visit a computer store every soon, the generous folks of Averatec has also included FireWire, S-Video, VGA-Port, audio and microphone input and output, and fax/modem and Gigabit LAN. You can get your hands on this notebook for about $1,783.
