ASUS W5Ae Notebook 2006 CES International Innovations Design and Engineering Honoree
Among the 2006 CES International Innovations Design and Engineering Honoree Award winners is the Asus W5A notebook, which we briefly saw on the Whack. In case you did not notice, Asus also has an enhanced model, the W5Ae based on the same design but with a 1.86GHz processor and generous 100 gig hard drive.
The ASUS W5Ae features an integrated 180° 1.3 megapixel swivel cam - ideal for video conferencing. With the bundled surveillance software, you can also be alerted of any unwanted activity around your vicinity. The carbon-fiber casing is highly rugged and suits the notebook.
At less than 4 pounds, it is also one of the lightest notebooks but packs a punch underneath. With a Pentium M 750 (1.86GHz) processor and 1GB of DDR2 400 RAM, it is a notebook on steroids. Add to it the 12.1" color shine widescreen and integrated 802.11b/g wireless LAN, and you have a great little package.
